Get a Close Look of A Year’s Worth of Product Development At Booth 2384, PressWise by SmartSoft is demonstrating the results of a busy year’s product development since last year’s GRAPH EXPO. Press- Wise is a print shop management system designed to help printers grow their business while eliminating touches from their workfl ow, through an all-in-one, cloud-based MIS and print automation platform. PressWise includes Web-to-print storefronts, estimating, order management, production automation, shipping and fulfi llment, and mail processing. New tools to be shown at GRAPH EXPO 16 include: • Kitting functionality, allowing a group of items/jobs to be grouped together to allow for a single price and single description for the overall product on invoices and quotes. • Purchase Orders for outside service products ordered, to allow for better tracking of these orders. Each Purchase Order line can be linkable to a job or fi nishing task, and POs may also be added for non-inventory items, such as offi ce supplies for example. • Single Sign On (SSO) using the SAML 2.0 protocol is now offered as an add-on service so you can use your existing authentication server on your network to control access to PressWise, both for storefront users (for In Plants) as well as back-end users. • The standalone QuickBooks Connector tool gives you greater control and visibility into the information fl owing from PressWise into QuickBooks. You can now see a list of orders/invoices that will be processed, and better payment handling has been added to reduce duplicate entry of information. • New Customer Reports give you greater insight into your business. New reports include Customer Aging Reports, monthly Customer Statements, Customer Activity Reports that provide useful insight into your most valuable customers, and Won/Lost Recap reports that lets you see which customers are you are having the most success with. • Multi-Ship Functionality has been added to PressWise. Each order can now include multiple shipments, each with a unique shipment method, and jobs easily moved from one shipment to another using a unique drag-and-drop UI. • Sales Tax Flexibility—Sales Tax enhancements will allow the administrator to control the sales tax percentages charged for each region (by state, ZIP code etc.). The default sales tax behavior will continue to be the automatic calculation of sales tax, but if you need to charge a fl at rate for an entire state (such as for use tax collection when you have nexus in another state), you will now be able to do so. Besides these, there are a number of other improvements that are being rolled out to PressWise that will be available for demonstration at GRAPH EXPO 16. As Joseph Lehn, Director of Product Management for PressWise points out “This has been a very productive 12 months for our development team as we continue to respond to the requests of our customers and the demands of the marketplace to create the number one print management system on the marketplace today. “GRAPH EXPO 16 gives us the chance to showcase PressWise to the wider print community, as well as connect with the many existing customers that take the opportunity to visit us at tradeshows and gain additional insights in person. It really is a great opportunity to connect with our audience and get valuable feedback on new tools and features, and we are really looking forward to enjoying the show in Orlando for the fi rst time,” says Lehn. Duplo at GRAPH EXPO 16 Duplo USA Corporation (Booth 2025) is exhibiting the latest in automation and precision fi nishing. The “Look Book” showcases the impactful, enhanced-value aesthetics that can be achieved with AMS’s LED UV curing systems, especially when dealing with The “Look Book” showcases the impactful, enhanced-value aesthetics that can be achieved with AMS’s LED UV curing systems. diffi cult sheetfed-litho scenarios involving fast production speeds, tricky substrates, and hard-to-achieve coating effects. “At AMS, we are thrilled with the excitement the ‘Look Book’ produced among printers around the world,” says Hans Ulland, Owner and VP of Air Motion Systems. “The piece was designed to dispel the myths about printing and coating with LED in high-speed sheetfed.” The LED UV “Look Book” was designed by creative agency Rosendahl Berlin, and produced by the German fi rm Königs- Druck, which printed the volume on a 6-color KBA (Booth 1435) Rapida 106 equipped with a single XP9 LED UV curing module from AMS. The goal was to inspire printers and creatives with the portfolio piece, which features unique substrate, ink, and coating combinations employed effi ciently, effectively, and in an environmentally sound manner by turning to LED UV curing. It presents fashion and lifestyle photography on an array of coated and uncoated paper substrates, as well as transparent and opaque synthetic substrates, which play off of each other to showcase the visual intrigue that can be established by properly layering transparent (and semi-transparent) pages with solid ones. On certain pages, inks were run at high densities on both substrates, and produced in volume at high speed; this was done to highlight how marking, scratching, and offsetting are avoided when AMS’s LED energy curing system is used. Additionally, the color vibrancy of top-cured LED UV inks on uncoated stocks is showcased multiple times within the “Look Book,” and the substrates and CMYK process colors are indicated throughout the piece as points of reference.
