The program will feature a roster of leading industry technology and process experts on the latest developments in G7 standards and proven production best practices. G7 is Idealliance’s industry-leading set of specifi cations for achieving gray balance, and is a driving force for attaining visual similarity across all print processes, substrates, and inks, a key component in effective brand management. The G7 method outlines an easy-to-follow recipe for implementing ISO printing standards and additional metrics, resulting in a simple, but powerful way to match from proof to press. The industry’s most experienced technology and process experts will share valuable insights and instruction for both G7 novices and experienced premedia and print production professionals. Program sessions include: • “G7 News: We Answer Your FAQs” with Don Hutcheson, Founder, HutchColor, and recognized as “the father of G7.” • “Test Forms: What, Where, When, and Why” with David Hunter, Founder, Pilot Marketing Group. • “Expanded Gamut: Beta Test Results & Next Steps” with Ron Ellis, Ron Ellis Consulting. • “Brand Matters: Quantifying the Value of G7” with Sonja Dearden, Associate Print Production Manager, Lindt Chocolate. • “G7 for Digital Presses” with Lou Prestia, Senior Product Line Manager, EFI. • “Grand Format: Printing G7 at 4x the Speed of the Fastest Digital” with Mike Ruff, Mike Ruff Consulting. • “Visualizing G7: Creative Tools and Techniques for Making it Work” with John Thorburn, Senior Analyst, Canon. Explore the Opportunity of the Label and Packaging Market For label, packaging and commercial printing markets, Konica Minolta (Booth 1801) is expanding on its capability with the recent product launches of the bizhub PRESS C71cf digital label press and the AccurioJet KM-1 high speed inkjet press. The recent additional investment into MGI, to further offer digital printing and decorative print technologies with products such as MGI JV 3DW, Konica Minolta is poised to assist these markets with unique and innovative products. The Konica Minolta bizhub PRESS c71cf is the solution for label printing. The need for digital printing technology for the label industry is apparent. Customer demands for shorter job runs cannot be sustained on a traditional fl exographic press. The number of jobs printed per shift is increasing as well as personalization and customization and digital printing technology will assist with the changing market conditions. To compliment the label printing process, the MGI JV 3DW digital fi nisher will add spot UV, 2D/3D, and Hot Foil enhancements in a 100% digital format to printed rolls of labels. No dies or screens to setup, just all digital workfl ow. This will allow convertors and brand owners unique applications; like variable data foil labels or spot varnished labels, providing an improved high quality label with tremendous value. For high end commercial printers, the Konica Minolta AccurioJet KM-1 high speed cut sheet inkjet press will help with commercial printing and light folding carton packaging applications. With the Konica Minolta UV ink technology, larger than B2 size sheet format, will allow for new applications with a wide range for substrates that can’t be reached with toner based technologies. The need to expand to larger digital formats with variable data printing allows applications that cannot be done with most traditional offset presses. 58 | September 25, 2016 | GRAPH EXPO 16 Offi cial Show Daily | PrintingNews.com
