MUST SEE ’EMS Innovations from EFI at GRAPH EXPO 16 EFI (Booth 1349) has numerous new, MUST SEE ’EMS Award-winning innovations in its booth at GRAPH EXPO 16, showcasing new customer advantages in a portfolio that has earned the most MUST SEE ’EMS Awards for the sixth consecutive year. One key award-winning innovation, the EFI Fiery Color Profi ler Suite, is the fi rst complete color management toolset to achieve G7 System Certifi cation from IDEAlliance. The Color Profi ler Suite makes re-calibration twice as fast on digital printers, and eliminates the time-intensive and error prone manual loading/entry of correction curves or values. Print professionals not only get correct tonality and gray balance, but also higher quality saturated colors. The Fiery Color Profi ler Suite also gives users an easy, visual verifi cation of G7 grayscale compliance. Another new offering honored with a MUST SEE ’EMS Award, EFI’s Digital Marketing Automation Platform, is an innovative new approach to marketing management platforms. It includes EFI Digital StoreFront Web-to-print technology, along with EFI DirectSmile cross media marketing and SmartCanvas integration technologies. Printing companies can offer more to their customers with a marketing automation platform the drives consistent brand messaging across media, while allowing for specifi c touch points to be customized to target demographics. Buyers gain more control over their campaigns, along with the ability to see the analytics at any time. And just as important, printing companies can move jobs through the shop more effi ciently thanks to the Digital Marketing Automation Platform’s powerful information sharing tools that move printing companies even closer to their clients. GRAPH EXPO is a remarkable forum for packaging innovation, and at the EFI booth, the company will showcase the EFI Corrugated Packaging Suite, the fi rst endto end corrugated workfl ow offering assembled by a single industry vendor. This Suite delivers real-time fact-based data for business management generated by direct machine interfaces and data gathered via EFI ERP/MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) tools. EFI’s Packaging Suite for label and packaging converters is part of another award-winning workflow offering at GRAPH EXPO, an end-to-end JDF-based integration that streamlines operations by connecting the Packaging Suite’s Radius ERP software with Esko Automation Engine and EFI Fiery digital front ends for digital inkjet packaging production. This robust and fl exible workfl ow can also include EFI PrintFlow dynamic scheduling software for dynamic scheduling based on the current production status, delivery requirements and resource constraints with the most economic sequence to continuously run digital presses at rated speed. Textile is one of the fastest-growing markets for digital printing, and EFI is helping to streamline the product development process for textile apparel applications with another MUST SEE ’EMS Award-winner, the EFI Optitex Collaborate app. Collaborate allows global design and product teams to instantly share, view and collaborate with colleagues and external vendors for faster decision-making earlier in the product and design cycle. The result is a dramatically reduced review and production cycle, saving major brands critical time to market. The app enables real-time collaboration through the review cycle including the ability to “pin” areas to add comments to specifi c design areas. Anyone with access to the shared workspace will also receive automatic notifi cations of comments. As the range of new market applications for inkjet printing continues to grow, EFI is helping to foster continued success for customers with a new ink platform fi rst shown as a technology demo at drupa 2016. EFI AquaEndure is a water-based ink that combines eco-friendliness of water-based inks with the ability to adhere to wide range of media. It offers UV-like versatility, but without odor, regulatory limitations for food and skin contact, or the need to choose between durability and fl exibility. It offers good performance on fi lms due to lower drying/curing temperatures than other technologies, such as latex. And, its litho-like pile is ideal for as wall coverings, printing on synthetics, packaging, and many other applications. When it becomes commercially available next year on a new printer coming from EFI, customers will also benefi t from lower costs compared with UV ink sets. EFI’s coating line for inkjet printing, EFI Armor, has won numerous awards, and the newest Armor formulation—EFI Armor Erase UV—winning a 2016 MUST SEE ’EMS honor as well. This unique, durable product is an anti-graffi ti/dry erasable clear coat specially formulated for inkjet-printed graphics. It offers exceptional adhesion to styrene, acrylic, polyester, coated metal, coated cardboard stock and other related rigid materials. EFI Armor Erase UV offers an exterior life for one year, and in commercial display environments, it allows for easy cleaning of common graffi ti sources, such as aerosol or enamel spray paint.
