PressWise by SmartSoft to Demonstrate New Print MIS Enhancements SmartSoft (Booth 2384) is demonstrating the latest enhancements to PressWise, the all-in-one Web-to-print, MIS, and Workfl ow Automation solution, at GRAPH EXPO 16. The PressWise print shop management system is designed to help printers grow their business while eliminating touches from their workfl ow, through its end-to-end, cloud-based print MIS, and production automation platform. Some of the new features that will be shown at GRAPH EXPO 16 include: • Kitting functionality, allowing jobs that contain multiple components that go together to form a single product within PressWise for simplifi ed quoting and invoicing. • Purchase Orders for outside services and products ordered, to allow for better tracking of these orders. Each Purchase Order line can be linked to a job or fi nishing task, and POs may also be added for non-inventory items, such as offi ce supplies for example. • The standalone QuickBooks Connector tool gives you greater control and visibility into the information fl owing from PressWise into QuickBooks. You can now see a list of orders/invoices that will be processed, and better payment handling has been added to reduce duplicate entry of information. • New Customer Reports give you greater insight into your business. New reports include Customer Aging Reports, monthly Customer Statements, Customer Activity Reports that provide useful insight into your most valuable customers, and Won/Lost Recap Reports that let you see which customers you are having the most success with. • Multi-Ship Functionality has been added to PressWise. Each order can now include multiple shipments, each with a unique shipment method, and jobs easily moved from one shipment to another using a unique drag-and-drop UI. • Sales Tax Flexibility enhancements will allow system administrators to control the sales tax percentages charged for each region (by state, ZIP code etc.). Sales tax will continue to be automatically calculated, but if you need to make specifi c changes (e.g., for use in tax collection when you have nexus in another state), you will now be able to do so. In addition, there are a number of other features currently in development that will be previewed at the PressWise booth at GRAPH EXPO 16. “This has been a very productive 12 months for our development team, as we continue to respond to the requests of our customers and the demands of the marketplace, to create the number one print management system on the marketplace today,” says Joseph Lehn, Director of Product Management for PressWise. “GRAPH EXPO 16 gives us the chance to showcase Press- Wise to the wider print community, as well as connect with the many existing customers that take the opportunity to visit us at tradeshows and gain additional insights in person.” 5 Reasons GRAPH EXPO 16 is a Must-See Event While most of the industry’s manufacturers staged their major 2016 announcements earlier this year, here are fi ve reasons why GRAPH EXPO 16 is, as the organizers might say, a “must-see-em.” 1. Experience the best of drupa. GRAPH EXPO 16 and Xerox (Booth 1625) is hosting the North American debut of many drupa introductions. Just 3% of drupa’s 260,000 visitors were from the U.S. Editor’s Note: You can also experience product demos, industry panels, and more by tuning into Live Stream feeds at https://www.periscope.tv/XeroxProduction. 2. Explore game-changing inkjet technologies. Some truly innovative inkjet products were introduced in the last six months, and two from Xerox are recognized with MUST SEE ’EMS awards (Xerox's iGen3 was honored with a MUST SEE ’EMS Legacy Award at the Executve Outlook conference—see pages 4 and 49): • The Xerox Brenva HD Production Inkjet Press is a standout among available cut-sheet inkjet presses, for its low-cost total ownership, workfl ow fl exibility, and proven technologies from the Xerox iGen, Impika, Nuvera, CiPress, and FreeFlow families. These contribute to best-in-class, in-line automation for optimal productivity. • Xerox Direct to Object Inkjet Printer creates new opportunities by printing directly onto objects sized from bottle caps to football helmets. Printable materials include plastics, metals, ceramics, and glass, and the printer can handle fl at, contour, and uneven surfaces like those of golf balls. • The new printer eliminates the need for labels, enables personalization, and has a sleek, compact design that fi ts easily in retail locations. In addition, the Xerox Rialto 900 Inkjet Press with new enhancements—inline dynamic perforation and a second high-capacity stacker—will be on display. This device aims to democratize inkjet, eliminating classic barriers such as cost, size and complexity. Lastly, samples of Xerox's new High Fusion Ink will be on display. These new inks, designed for the Xerox Trivor 2400, enable printing directly onto low-cost, commodity-based offset coated stocks without the need for any pre or post treatment or inkjet coatings. This opens up yet another large piece of the offset printing market to digital. 3. Consult on your business challenges. As the largest graphic communications trade show in North America, GRAPH EXPO is one of the year’s best opportunities to network. Many Xerox experts will be at the booth to discuss business and technology topics. And on two days—Sept. 26 and 27—Xerox is hosting a 4:00 pm Happy Hour in our booth for networking with industry experts and colleagues as well as the Xerox team. 4. Automate your business. Shorter runs, faster turns, more jobs, and the requirements of many high-growth applications have created a mandate to automate. The value of three key pieces in the Xerox workfl ow automation suite were reaffi rmed when their latest enhancements received MUST SEE ’EMS awards. • Xerox FreeFlow Core 5.0, the intelligent automation platform that streamlines prepress activities to increase productivity and reduce costs, is now available in two cloud versions—base and advanced—in addition to cloud and on-premise. • Xerox FreeFlow Digital Publisher, which automatically produces online, mobile, and print content from a single PDF fi le, now offers specially formatted mobile course packs for higher education, and a new custom storefront for mobile apps. • XMPie Campaigns on Demand integrates XMPie PersonalEffect StoreFlow and Circle to enable personalized multichannel campaign ordering and execution directly from a Web-to-print store. It will be available in 2017. 5. Discover opportunities with toner-based technologies. Two of the company’s xerographic technologies recently received 2016 InterTech Technology Awards, as breakthroughs with the potential to impact the future of the graphic communications landscape: • The Ultra HD Resolution on the Xerox Versant 2100 Press is so good that “there’s no longer a reason to avoid the elements that used to be a problem for digital print—gradients, thin fonts, and vector graphics,” according to the InterTech judges. • And the Metallic Dry Inks delivered via a fi fth toner station of the Xerox Color 800i/1000i Press are “a game changer” for offering new revenuegenerating opportunities, the judges stated. Joining the Versant 2100 is the Xerox iGen 5 Press, with its optional fi fth-toner-station, which offers three gamut-extending colors and clear toner for adding pop to selected sections of printed pieces.
