Adding in the additional 10 shops (for this year’s Top 50) we had 147 locations. While most shops had only a handful of locations— ranging from one to four— nine of our Top 50 list have five or more locations, with Richardson, TXbased Thomas Printworks topping out with 25. New York-based Diadeis GSG has 17 locations, Innomark Communications has 10, Duggal Visual Solutions and reproHAUS boasted seven locations, while Sharpe Images and Color Reflections Las Vegas boast six a piece, and Coloredge has five. Additionally, the Top 50 Shops have plans to open up 14 new locations in 2015, up from last year’s projected number. The Top Shops offer a range of capabilities and services, both color and black-and-white graphics. This year, 44.05 percent of the shops offer color-only graphics (no monochrome) down from last year’s 52.38 percent. The remaining 55.95 percent of shops offer both color and black-and-white graphics to their customers. As an average, 54.98 percent of the top shops’ output is wide-format (36-96 inches in width). Grand-format (96-inches plus) grabs the next largest share with 21.94 percent. Medium-format (24-35 inches) has 14.72 percent of the share, leaving small-format (14-inches and smaller documents) the remaining 8.35 percent. Application-wise things have remained pretty similar to last year’s report. Retail/POP displays and signs (including floor graphics) are still in the lead position with 14.28 percent of the overall graphics mix. Banners and signs is the next in line with 13.48 percent, up slightly from last year. Exhibit and trade show graphics (9.37 percent) pull in the next largest segment of business. Fleet and vehicle graphics show a slight increase again year, up about one percent to 8.59 percent. Posters came in next with 5.52 percent. Backlit display graphics (5.46 percent), billboards and building wraps (4.93), building signs (4.91), engineering drawings (including CAD, blueprints, and renderings) (4.78), fabric and textile graphics (4.78), labels & decals (4.67), specialty printing & graphics (4.28), decor printing (3.96), yard & site signs (3.31), fine art and museum graphics (3.11), regulatory signs (1.63), electrical signs (1.59), and other (1.35) round out the rest of the applications. 44.05% 14.28% Top 50
