GRAY XX X X X These two part sealants feature a base ma-terial container, available in quarts, pints, 6 or 2.5 oz. semkits, filled to 3/4 capacity that facilitates adding and mixing the curing compound. The curing compound and base are packaged together so as to form a unit-of-issue kit. Storage life of materials varies depending on which specification it conforms to. Nine months shelf life from the date of packaging is most common, but always check the container as there are variations. The package should also give you mixing instructions. The curing compound is mixed with the base at a ratio determined by weight. Semkits are plastic tubes containing both parts pre-measured and ready to mix. After mixing, the sealant is usually applied with a manual or pneumatic gun and any leftover material is discarded. Quarts and pints kits allow you to weigh and mix only what you need for a particu-lar job and store the leftover material.
