majority of these tire purchases are made at commercial
tire dealers (90 percent).
When comparing steel versus aluminum wheels,
fleets indicated they would sacrifice durability for
weight considerations when specifying aluminum
wheels. Finish is also a much higher priority when
specifying aluminum wheels.

Just over one third of respondents said they think wide base tires will gain in
popularity, and another 38 percent aren’t sure. One quarter of respondents
said they don’t believe wide base tires will become more popular.
