New Products PitStop 13 Enfocus has re-engineered the functionality within PitStop 13 to increase the opportunities to preflight and correct PDF files, with a major focus on a solution for the very common issue of ‘no or insufficient bleed’. PitStop 13 has a re-designed Preflight engine that addresses the challenges of creating high-quality PDFs and is structured to ensure the submission of high-quality PDFs, today, tomorrow, and well into the future. It includes a new option to generate bleed where none currently exists, and the ability for users to customize the language and content of the error messaging within Preflight reports, including the use of languages for which the software has not yet been localized. Preflight Restrictions represents the most significant change to the PitStop Preflight library since it was created 15 years ago. It allows for checks and fixes included in a preflight profile to be limited to certain aspects of a PDF. A single monthly subscription for PitStop Pro will cost $38 per month, or $12 per month with an annual prepaid contract at $365; whereas a perpetual license cost is $799. The option for subscription licensing will be available when PitStop 13 is released in April 2015. The PitStop 13 grace period begins today, February 2, 2015. Users purchasing or upgrading to PitStop 12 from February 2, 2015 will automatically be entitled to PitStop 13, free of charge, when the new version is available. MyPRINTResource.com/ 10312977 Xerox Rialto 900 The Xerox Rialto 900 Inkjet Press offers first-of-its kind features and carves out a new space within the booming production color inkjet segment. The world’s only fully-integrated roll-to-cut sheet, narrow web inkjet press is designed for print providers who produce 1.5 to 5 million impressions per month. It has the smallest footprint of any inkjet press on the market—11.9 x 5.1 feet/ 3.58 x 1.55 meters (including the press tower). To help lower the entry point into production inkjet technology, the Rialto 900 prints duplex jobs, one-up on the smallest, narrow web (9.84 inches/250 millimeters) on the market. The device offers the speed and image quality required to take on full-color, personalized direct-mail, statements and book production. Its all-in-one design means the front-end controller, paper roll and finishing components are housed within the machine – a space saver and service convenience. Automating and simplifying production is seamless with a range of workflow offerings, including XMPie PersonalEffect StoreFlow, Xerox FreeFlow Core, and VI Suite and solutions from GMC and Solimar – all driving the press at rated speed for maximum productivity. The Rialto 900 is the first product jointly developed and launched by Xerox and Impika, accomplished within just two years of the acquisition. Additionally, Impika’s portfolio is now fully-integrated into Xerox’s production family and brand. MyPRINTResource.com/10008702 Softak Coating Softak from Michelman is a water based coating that increases the coefficient of friction (COF), or slide angle, of paper, corrugated and linerboard. It can prevent slippage of products and packaging that are used in transit for shipping or storage containers, and reduce costs associated with breakage or material handling accidents. Softak is also used when a tactile or suede-like feel is desired in addition to COF control. It is print receptive, recyclable, and repulpable in both acid and alkaline systems. It can be applied with conventional coating equipment such as blade, roll and rod coaters and is typically applied offline to create pre-coated roll stock.
