AS A preventative measure, Metro lined up 120 of its buses from a facility in a lowlying

With 130-mph winds as a Category 4 hurricane when it hit coastal towns of
Texas late Friday, Harvey has unleashed catastrophic fl ooding in southeast
Texas and paralyzed Houston, the fourth-largest city in the United States.
Th e Texas Department of Transportation’s status report as of 8/30 stated
nine rural transit districts and eight urban transit districts were in the storm
impact area. Th e general situation was that fl eets appeared to be in good
shape, some minor facility damage and minimal to complete disruption in
service, depending on location.
