Next Generation HP InkJet Production: HP High Definition HNozzle Architecture Technology igh Definition Nozzle Architecture (HDNA) is HP’s (Booth 1202) latest InkJet printhead technology. The new HDNA printhead doubles the native print resolution of current HP inkjet printheads from 10,560 to 21,120 nozzles, delivering 2,400 nozzles per inch. HDNA supports dual drop weight per color for sharp text, fine lines, accurate skin tones, smooth gray and color transitions, and enhanced highlight and shadow detail; and built-in nozzle redundancy ensures reliable and consistent printing. HP will also offer a new quality mode, which prints up to 400' (122 meters) per minute in color with dual drop weight for a step function improvement in print quality. Powered by High Definition Nozzle Architecture technology, the maximum print speed enabled will be up to 800' (244 meters) per minute, while still delivering the excellent print quality HP customers depend on today. High Definition Nozzle Architecture technology enables HP InkJet Web Press customers to address a broader range of applications from general commercial printing to production mail to publishing by resetting the bar for inkJet quality and performance. HP is committed to continuous investments in inkJet technology across a broad portfolio of products, driving unparalleled economies of scale, and providing upgradable solutions so that existing and future customers can take advantage of advancements. High Definition Nozzle Architecture technology will be incorporated into all HP InkJet Web Press platforms, including the HP T200, T300, and T400 InkJet Web Press families and those sold through resellers. Current customers can upgrade to the new technology. HP T200, T300, and T400 series InkJet Web Press customers have printed more than 100 billion A4 equivalent pages since 2009. KODAK.COM/GO/6000 Opening New Revenue Streams with Added Print Capabilities GAM Graphics and Marketing is a family-owned, full-service marketing firm in Sterling, VA. When it opened in 1976, the company delivered consistent, reliable offset printing. Several years later, however, the needs of its clients began to change. As a result, the print provider began to evolve into a one-stop agency that could deliver its clients’ marketing, printing, and fulfillment needs quickly and cost-effectively. In an increasingly competitive commercial print landscape, Nathaniel Grant, GAM’s President, was looking for more ways to help his shop stand out. He knew some shops had started to employ five-color printing to help broaden their output capabilities and grab attention, but when he’d shopped around for five-color presses, he knew his shop couldn’t afford the large up-front investment most such RICOH Pro C7110X devices required. To help GAM realize its creative potential without breaking the bank, the printer turned to a RICOH (Booth 1231) Pro C7110X, then in beta. This device features 90 ppm speeds and 1200x4800dpi with VCSEL image quality and provided an affordable entry point for GAM to begin offering five-color printing to its customers. By adding a fifth color station to the mix, Grant could now offer output on dark stock. In addition to broadening the types of stock GAM can leverage through the use of five-color printing, the RICOH Pro C7110X added other capabilities to GAM’s arsenal, including the ability to produce six-page, three-fold oversized brochures; spot clear treatments on items such as tickets; and gift cards with security features. In fact, Grant was so impressed with the device, he bought one as soon as he could after the beta period ended. Working with Ricoh, GAM certainly achieved its goal of standing out against the competition. “Since we implemented the RICOH Pro C7110X six months ago, we have delivered an even wider range of unique applications to our customers and seen a cost savings of 25% . These benefits have allowed us to expand our offerings and natively produce previously outsourced jobs,” said Grant. “From printing on dark stock to linen, both we and our customers have been more than impressed with the level of quality and output this digital system offers.” INSTANTLY DRY SHEETS AT FULL PRESS SPEEDS RETROFIT IT NOW ON YOUR SHEETFED PRESS FREE LED UV SEMINAR SEPT. 15 12:30-1:30 SOUTH HALL BOO TH 460 WWW.AIRMOTIONSYSTEMS.COM | @AMS_UV Official Show Daily | PrintingNews.com GRAPH EXPO | September 16, 2015 | 37
