Product Spotlight Soft Touch material More and more customers are requesting soft touch material for their printing projects. They want the luxury feel with a quicker turnaround and lower printing cost. Masterpiece Graphix (Booth 2512) developed a soft touch material for digital presses that doesn’t require post process coating. The LuXe soft feel substrates have a velvety, rose petal feel that grabs customer attention. With no post print fi nishing, LuXe substrates are a cost effective, short run option for a variety of print applications including; direct mail, menus, pocket folders, hotel door hangers, and baby products. The LuXe line offers a soft white matte fi nish, multiple thicknesses (12pt, 14pt, 18pt), and two sheet sizes: 18x12" or 19x13". Product Catalog GPA (Booth 2940) is showcasing its updated Digital Product Catalog, which contains its most comprehensive collection of substrates for HP Indigo and dry toner presses. Among the latest additions are new substrates for smaller, sheet-fed HP Indigo and dry toner presses, and customer favorites now available in larger sheet sizes for HP Indigo 10000 and similar presses. Other exciting new substrates include wood-grain papers, packaging boards, premium specialty fi ne papers, and Folex Synthetics. Because GPA’s digital product offering is continually growing to meet market and customer demands, the Digital Product Catalog will be available as an electronic PDF. This format will ensure that customers have real-time access to GPA’s latest offering. Two-roll color print system KIP America (Booth 1137) will be showcasing the KIP 860, a two-roll color print system with integrated CIS scanner that is ideal for environments that require convenient multi-function productivity with a single footprint space-saving design. KIP 860 systems provide extraordinary print quality and performance for wide-format printing of technical and business graphics at 600x2400 dpi print resolution with consistent productivity of 2,880 sqft, in either color or black and white. System workfl ow provides print control for production environments from a range of print submission applications, cloud printing, scan and copy, variable data printing, and full- integrated stacking and folding. Color Management Software The EFI (Booth 1349) Fiery Color Profi ler Suite (FCPS) is a set of color management tools that directly integrate with the Fiery DFE. In FCPS v.4.9, EFI added functionality to enable G7 calibration of the print system as an integral part of the process of creating a custom output profi le. Until now, digital press users have matched G7 calibration targets using ICC color management. By providing the ability to create a G7-compliant calibration directly on a Fiery Driven print system before a profi le is created, the profi ling system can characterize a more fundamentally neutral print system. Another key feature in the FCPS workfl ow used to calibrate based on the G7 methodology is that a traditional Fiery calibration curve is also established. This means that when users re-calibrate the Fiery DFE on a day-today basis, they can continue to use the standard Fiery calibration target that they are familiar with. This results in a re-calibration procedure that is twice as fast because there is no need to measure the larger P2P patch set required by other G7 calibration systems.
