It delivers up to 500 feet per minute (fpm) in quality mode and up to 1,000 fpm in performance mode. The High Defi nition Nozzle Architecture printhead provides 2,400 nozzles per inch, and dual drop weight per color for sharp text, fi ne lines, accurate skin tones, smooth gray and color transitions, and enhanced highlight and shadow detail. The press supports 40-lb text to 130-lb cover stocks (60 to 350 gsm) as well as commercial offset stocks and inkjet treated stocks. Special Effect Ink EFI (Booth 1349) VUTEk GSLX Pro UD Clear Ink is a special-effect ink option for EFI VUTEk GSLX Pro with UltraDrop Technology series 2m and 3.2m LED printers. It can run as a single- or double-channel ink in the printer, depending on the required usage. Print Management Software Virtual System’s (Booth 1690) Midnight Print and Mail Management is a full-featured, Web-based management software. The Midnight Dynamic Job Board (DJB) with Visual Scheduling is Virtual Systems latest innovation in workfl ow management and scheduling. The Midnight DJB allows users to manage tasks and orders in fi ve ways. The fi rst is to manage from an order level. This includes the ability to determine a due date, order status, as well as the status of the artwork, data, and material. The second is from the task level. This level of management allows users to assign a task to a particular machine and employee. It will also defi ne a start date and time, as well as a due date and time. The third way the DJB allows users to manage tasks is through the shop fl oor specifi c job board. This screen can also rotate between business departments, and scroll through the tasks in each department. The fourth and fi fth ways the DJB allows users to manage workfl ows is with visual scheduling. This can be done in a timeline view and a calendar style view. Both of these scheduling views work off of the same data in the task and order views, and are drag and drop interactive. These views also give you the ability to split tasks for more effi cient scheduling. Cloud-Based Print MIS Avanti (Booth 1879) is unveiling its latest version of Avanti Slingshot, the only JDF-certifi ed, cloud-based Print MIS in the market today, and the industry’s fi rst Print MIS to provide seamless integration with HP PrintOS. This integration provides a ‘touchless workfl ow’ between the business and production environments, preserving both data integrity and ensuring cross-system communication for Web, digital, and large-format printing. Avanti Slingshot Integration for HP PrintOS Site Flow offers a fully-integrated and modular production system that can seamlessly automate order submissions from your Web input, and tailor it to your shop’s production workfl ow. Instead of forcing your print production environment to adapt to Print MIS software, Avanti Slingshot’s touchless workfl ow enables the complete end-to-end integration with HP PrintOS Site Flow to take on more jobs, with fewer resources, while maintaining–and in most cases improving–profi tability. Packaging Workfl ow Software The next evolution of corrugated production, the EFI (Booth 1349) Corrugated Packaging Suite, provides a one vendor, one system, suite approach to solving the real business needs of corrugated companies. The Suite provides a scalable, functional platform with integrated dashboards to provide real time status on all areas of the corrugated packaging business. The Suite platform is scalable to the customer’s needs, providing fl exible workfl ow options as printer’s needs change, offering opportunities for incremental revenue growth. The Suite’s live, mobile accessible dashboards also allows those not desk bound to be an active participant in the entire process interacting with both customers and production from wherever they are. The Suite solution offers streamlined, automated workfl ows in ways that helps customers effi ciently optimize existing technologies and investment, while adopting new digital print solutions to boost profi tability with the growth of shorter-run and customized digital corrugated board production. Transport System Straight Shooter Equipment Company (Booth 968) is showcasing the R-14P transport system. It is used for printing, marking, date coding, bar codes, and more. The new transport now comes in lengths of standard, 36" and 48" lengths to accommodate several print or labeling heads or both. Buckle Separation, repositionable feed belts, and simple tool less set up make the feeder ideal for a wide variety of media types and sizes from single sheets to 3/8" thick material. The feeder and the transport sections of the R-14P each have their own motor. Our Speed Following feature ensures that the transport section follows the speed of the feeder. Foil Stamping and Die Cutting Press Brandtjen and Kluge Inc.’s (Booth 2639) EHD foil stamping and die cutting press features the new TRU-DWELL adjustable dwell system, which allows the operator to set time of impression. Other features designed to eliminate traditional make-ready, changeover requirements, and waste include heated platen, simple operation adjustable impression, dual-stream feeding of die-cut shapes, electronic foil control system, and quick-change die systems. Envelope Printer BOWE SYSTEC North America Inc.’s (Booth 2207) EPOD II Envelope Print on Demand utilizes Piezo inkjet printing heads which create dynamic, full color, 600x300 dpi images at up to 22,000 envelopes per hour. The EPOD II includes numerous new capabilities that distinguish it from the EPOD I and other traditional thermal inkjet systems. It eliminates the need for background misting or pattern spraying to maintain resolution quality and can remain idle during system stops without capping. The system prints up to a 4.25" width using separate CMYK print heads and can include an optional black-only (K) head. It automatically adjusts the printhead locations based on the envelope size and compensates for varied envelope thicknesses of up to 5/16" within a single job. These capabilities enable #10, 6x9" or fl at envelopes to be printed with customized messaging or to accommodate a white envelope environment. Synthetic Paper Hop Industries Corporation (Booth 2730) Hop-Syn TO is a bright white, 99% opaque synthetic paper with a high-opacity that will help prevent reverse side images from showing under direct sunlight. Available in a wide variety of gauge thickness and roll widths, it is tear resistant, 100% waterproof, and designed for printing retail banners and block-out window signs that can withstand harsh environments. It can be printed by offset, screen, fl exo, and UV inkjet on a wide variety of equipment. Monochrome Document Systems Formax (Booth 1319) and Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America (SIICA) are showcasing MX-M1055 and MX-M1205 Monochrome Document Systems. The 105ppm and 120ppm monochrome models offer the optional MX-PE11 Fiery Print Server running on the latest Fiery FS200 Pro platform, and boast Sharp’s 15.4" (diagonal) touchscreen display that allows full control of Fiery Command WorkStation at the operation panel of the machine. Large-Format Printer Canon’s (Booth 1500) 24"-wide image- PROGRAF PRO-2000 large-format printer uses a 1.28"-wide 12-channel print head, an 11-color LUCIA PRO ink set plus Chroma Optimizer, and an L-COA PRO high-speed image processing engine to print with quality and speed. The LUCIA PRO ink formulation, 11-color pigment inks, and Chroma Optimizer, includes microencapsulated colorants that deliver smooth gradients, an expanded color range, and deep color expression. The PRO-2000 includes a built-in color densitometer that calibrates the printer to its optimal settings. Using a three-color LED and newly developed condenser lens, the sensor enables accurate recalibration of the device, helping maintain color consistency from print to print, and printer to printer. 48 | September 26, 2016 | GRAPH EXPO 16 Offi cial Show Daily | PrintingNews.com
