AMS’ AMS XP Series Performs LMUST SEE ’EMS Hat-Trick ED UV is both a must see and a must have. For a third consecutive year, Air Motion Systems, Inc. | AMS UV (Booth 460) is showcasing its XP Series LED UV solutions for sheetfed offset printers. At GRAPH EXPO 15, AMS is highlighting its entire family of LED solutions ranging from paper and board curing options, to synthetic and high-speed applications for any size press. The AMS XP Series was voted the winner of the MUST SEE ’EMS technologies in the Pressroom category for three consecutive years. With hundreds of LED UV installations worldwide, AMS leads the market in the ambitious drive towards low-energy UV LED energy curing systems in sheetfed offset lithography. The latest generation featured from AMS— the XP9—provides an all-new power generation to address the most difficult UV curing and drying applications in sheetfed offset, at press speeds up to 30,000 sheets per hour, on virtually any substrate material. LED UV eliminates waiting time; the need for spray powered, protective coatings; marking problems; and can increase press capacity by 30% to 40%. LED UV also allows printers to expand into new substrates and coating effects without the drawbacks of conventional UV lamps. The next generation of LED UV systems from AMS are constructed of 100% solid state UV Light Emitting Diodes, are RoHS compliant, and are preferred over other energy curing and IR/hot air-based technologies because they deliver the benefits of instant drying without heat, mercury, ozone and frequent lamp replacements. Additionally, they reduce energy consumption between 30% to 70%. The XP9 LED UV can be placed anywhere on the press—from interdeck to delivery. This allows job capabilities to expand across the entire spectrum of CMYK, Pantone, opaque whites and metallic inks on any substrate. AMS will host a free seminar about LED UV tomorrow from 12:30 - 1:30 pm in room S404bc in the South Hall. AMS’ President Steve Metcalf will address the topic “LED UV and the Future of Offset Printing.” Transactional Printing: New Enclosure Feeder Options Expand the Capabilities of Fusion Cross BÖWE SYSTEC’s (Booth 1931) high-performance inserting system, Fusion Cross, debuted to rave reviews at its 2012 launch in the North American market, thanks to its outstanding flexibility and fast format changeovers. BÖWE SYSTEC’s commitment to advancing Fusion Cross’ capabilities has continued, resulting in new features being demonstrated at GRAPH EXPO 15. On display is the Fusion Cross solution processing continuous forms for Flats and letter formats, all with fully automated changeover. Three new enclosure options expand Fusion Cross’ Single Machine Type Strategy capabilities as the most flexible high-speed inserter on the market. A new rotary feeder capable of processing a thickness of up to 5/16" is now available along with pre-stacking and an autoloader option to allow operators to keep pace with the high speeds that Fusion Cross has demonstrated while running thick policy and brokerage type booklets. These expanded capabilities address the demands of service bureau and financial customers who require a variety of enclosure sizes and thicknesses. The open device carrier concept facilitates an easy exchange between feeder types leveraging the modular philosophy and maximizing investment capital. “With Fusion Cross, companies can embark on a Single Machine Type Strategy (SMTS) and reap the benefits of lower costs and greater efficiency within their mail production facilities,” says John Lombard, CEO, BÖWE SYSTEC North America.
