NPES Urges Support for Ex-Im Bank Reauthorization: Contact Congress Today NPES The Association for Suppliers of Printing, Publishing and Converting Technologies (Booth S101) urges its members and all suppliers of printing industry technology to contact their U.S. Senators and Congressmen and ask them to vote to reauthorize the Export-Import Bank’s (Ex-Im Bank) charter through September 30, 2019, bringing long-term stability and confidence to manufacturers and exporters that foreign markets will remain accessible for their products and services. NPES supports Ex-Im Bank reauthorization because it is an especially essential tool for small manufacturers exporting to new markets, as well as an important resource for manufacturers of all sizes who compete in the global economy. In short, U.S. manufacturers need exports to grow jobs and the economy, and Ex-Im Bank plays a key role in that effort. SBA 2012 Southeastern U.S. Exporter of the Year, NPES Government Affairs Chairman Ron Rose, President, Nova Pressroom Products, Jacksonville, FL puts it this way: “Ex-Im Bank has helped Nova develop a successful export business. Doing business in Latin America requires extending credit terms of up to 90 days, more risk than we want. We have used the Ex-Im insurance program that guarantees receivables for the last six years. The insurance is carried directly by the bank. Each customer Printing Industries of America’s Julie Shaffer to Present Two Seminars at GRAPH EXPO 15 must be approved creditwise. For us it’s a very simple program that’s given us the ability to extend terms to customers in countries where we would otherwise have wanted prepayment.” NPES urges its members and all suppliers of printing industry technology to TAKE ACTION (http://tinyurl. com/o2tm4wt) right now and send a message to their members of Congress to vote to reauthorize the Ex-Im Bank: American jobs depend on it. NPES thanks you for your support of Ex-Im Bank. For more information contact, NPES Government Affairs Director Mark J. Nuzzaco at phone: 703/264- 7235, e-mail: mnuzzaco@npes.org. Relyco to Showcase TriDura Durable Paper and REVLAR Vibrant Colors at GRAPH EXPO 15 Printing Industries of America’s (PIA) (Booth 3802) Julie Shaffer, Vice President, Digital Strategies, is presenting two sessions, “Print FUTURE SHOCK: Interactive, Integrated—Even ELECTRIC!” and “3D for Commercial Printers: Your NEXT Print Profit Pathway!” at GRAPH EXPO 15. Shaffer joined Printing Industries of America in May 2000. As part of the executive management group, she manages Internet communications and PIA conferences and education initiatives, including the Integrated Learning Center. Shaffer has served as a PIA industry expert on topics such as digital file prep, prepress productions, web-to-print, social media, digital printing, and integrated media. Shaffer’s seminars are beneficial to business owners, CTOs, CFOs, production managers, operation managers, sales managers, technology specialists, project managers, business development professionals, and designers. Print FUTURE SHOCK: Interactive, Integrated—Even Electric! Monday, September 14, 4:00-5:30 pm, Room S405a. At this session, Shaffer will teach attendees how print can be just as interactive as any electronic-based media. She will introduce new, entirely available technologies that mash print and digital communications. Topics being discussed include when and where RFID and NFC applications make sense, how interactive and print displays work best together, what resources it takes to get started with interactive media, and more. Attendees will have the chance to interact with many examples during the session. 3D for Commercial Printers: Your NEXT Print Profit Pathway! Tuesday, September 15, 2:00-3:30 pm, Room S403b. As the 3D print (also known as additive manufacturing or rapid prototyping) market continues to exceed all expectations in terms of sales and product development, should commercial printers join in on the trend? Shaffer will help attendees make decisions as she discusses the status of the 3D printing/additive manufacturing industry, what’s going on in the consumer market, what it takes to get the operation up and running, and much more. Printing Industries of America is also at the booth with a rotating panel of experts, industry resources, and exciting giveaways. Relyco is showcasing its new durable paper product, TriDura, and REVLAR Vibrant Colors at this year’s GRAPH EXPO. Relyco’s exhibit (Booth 1955)—Navigating Print to the Next Stop—is featuring the company’s entire product line, including DigiPOP Packaging Solutions, REVLAR Waterproof Paper, REIMAGE Carbonless Paper, and ULTRASEAL Pressure Seal Forms for a comprehensive view of how printers can leverage Relyco’s unique paper solutions to traverse the changing world of print. “As the print industry evolves in a market where digital communications are growing less and less expensive, Relyco’s mission is to partner with print shops, in-plants, and commercial printers to deliver strategies and tools to help them grow their businesses,” says Bruce Steinberg, Relyco President. “By leveraging 26 years of industry experience and our deep understanding of the challenges printers face, Relyco can ensure that our customers differentiate themselves in an established market. Our high-performing specialty papers deliver the versatility that printers need to set themselves apart.” In 2015, Relyco expanded its line of durable papers with the addition of TriDura and REVLAR Vibrant Colors. Durable, water-tolerant, and tear-resistant, TriDura is ideally suited to applications that require greater durability than what is available with traditional paper. REVLAR Vibrant Colors offer all the benefits of traditional REVLAR, but are available in a range of new colors: Fiery Red, Majestic Blue, Brilliant Yellow, Blazing Orange, Spring Green, and Desert Sand. Relyco is also using REVLAR Vibrant Colors to provide attendees with a unique opportunity for charitable giving. Visitors to Relyco’s booth can request a unique “badge” that has been specially printed on REVLAR Vibrant Colors and highlights one of a number of charities, including Make a Wish Foundation, The Nature Conservancy, Wounded Warrior Project, American Cancer Society, No Kid Hungry, and Operation Smile. For each of these badges worn during GRAPH EXPO 15, Relyco will make a $5 donation to the charity represented. The total number of badges is limited, so visitors should request their badge early. Explore a Parade of Ideas, “50 AH-HA Marketing Innovations and Ideas” at GRAPH EXPO 15 ohn Foley, Jr., CEO and President of interlinkONE, and Samantha Lake, Director of Marketing at Grow Socially, are exploring a “parade of ideas,” examples of extraordinarily diverse innovative programs, products, and projects that companies are putting into action or testing during their GRAPH EXPO 15 session, “50 AH-HA Marketing Innovations and Ideas,” Monday, September 14 from 10:30 am - 12:00 pm, Room S405a. Foley and Lake will give attendees a variety of ideas that they can implement in their company right away. “So often there is a lack of knowledge-share in the industry and we want to change that in a format that is fun, intriguing, and incredibly useful,” says Foley. Key takeaways include taking advantage of the tools and technology that you already have access to, the importance of staying current and ahead of your customers so you are positioned as a partner instead of ‘just’ a vendor, and how to differentiate yourself from the competition. “We’re going to provide you with new marketing ideas that inspire and motivate you to improve your own marketing efforts so you can really ‘eat your own dog food’ and take a more strategic approach to helping your clients in their marketing efforts,” adds Foley. Lake says, “We promise a fast-paced, high energy presentation, with useful tips and innovative ideas that attendees will be able to bring back to their shops and implement immediately.” The ninety-minute presentation on Monday, September 14, 2015 from 10:30am - 12:00pm CT is available to GRAPH EXPO 15 attendees; however, registration for the session individually is required. 52 September 13, 2015 | GRAPH EXPO Official Show Daily | PrintingNews.com
