GraphExpo Show Daily Day 1

A Galaxy’s Worth of Events in The Printerverse Throughout GRAPH EXPO 15, The Printerverse is hosting a variety of educational and networking sessions. Get educated and get inspired! On Sunday, at 3:00 pm, hear from industry advocates fighting against corporate greenwashing in a session called “Protecting and Perpetuating the Prosperity of Print and Paper.” The discussion will include a look at the “How Life Unfolds” campaign produced by the Paper and Packaging Board, an update from Phil Riebel, President of Two Sides North America, news about the SEC’s “go paperless” proposal from Martin J. Maloney of Printing Industries Alliance, and more. Coffee and tea will be served. On Monday, September 14, come by Booth 3867 for a day’s worth of events courtesy of Printerverse sponsor HP (Booth 1202). At 12 noon, The Printerverse hosts “Print Possibilities with HP Indigo,” featuring a show-and-tell and free lunch. At 3:00 pm, check out the “Case Study Café! Telling THEIR Story: Best Practices from HP High-Speed Inkjet Web Press Customers!,” focusing on users who have successfully developed unique and profitable new print applications and expanded relationships with existing customers thanks to HP’s high-speed production inkjet solutions. At 4:00 pm, stay for the “Wine, Books & Beers!” cocktail party, have a brew or two, and learn about on-demand digital book printing on the HP Indigo. The event will focus on how commercial printers can take advantage of opportunities in the fast-growing short-run bookmaking market. Drink tickets can be obtained at the HP Indigo, Fastbind USA (Booth 3245), and GPA (Booth 3822) booths. Stop by Tuesday, September 15 at 3:00 pm for “Reinventing World Class: Coffee and Conversation with Pitney Bowes,” a session designed to help print business owners harness technology and innovation and take advantage of the convergence of physical and digital communications to stay ahead of market changes, unlock new value for customers, and develop new competitive advantages and “world class” capabilities. Throughout the show, look for “Coffee Tawk with Deborah Corn,” a series of 15 to 20-minute one-on-one interviews. All events are open to GRAPH EXPO 15 attendees and are broadcast via Livestream. World’s Fastest 4 Color Envelope Overprint Press Runs Daily at GRAPH EXPO 15 The W+D (Booth 1253) 234d is the world’s fastest true industrial-grade, four-color inkjet envelope overprint press for short run envelope overprint applications. The four-color piezo drop-on-demand technology prints up to 30,000 #10 envelopes per hour at 600 x 600 dpi with four grey levels, the visual equivalent of 1,000 dpi. At 600x300 dpi (visual equivalent of 700 dpi), 60,000 #10 envelopes are printed per hour. With its precise high speed paper transport and Hi-Def water based inkjet inks offset competitive work can be produced on the industry standard of 24-pound white wove paper stock. The multi-format high performance rotary feeder design supports a wide range of mail products such as envelopes, stationery, business cards, postcards, tags, and even Tyvek, making the 234d a complete print shop for short run mailing work. It has a multi feeder size range from 3.2x4.5" in to 10x13" and easily handles papers from 16 to 90 pounds bond basis weight. The 234d ergonomic design enables quick and easy size changes with no limitations in regards to window envelopes. The rotary feeder accepts up to 2,000 envelopes and is reloaded on the fly or can be also fed with a high volume (5,000 and larger autoloader). Continuous operation is further supported by the ability to replace high capacity one liter ink tanks while printing. ICC profiling enables consistent print quality across an array of paper qualities. The W+D 234d’s integrated RIP is designed to support 1:1 marketing with the printing of variable data and/or bar code printing from a database. Images can be individualized for each piece. PDF, TIF, GIF, JPG, PDX, BMP, PS, EPS, and CSV (personalized direct mail) file formats are supported. We’ve created the playbook for success in the wide-format business.
